Italy women in the final in kata for teams, bronze for men’s team

Trieste, february 17th 2008 (11.30 am) The third and closing day of the 35th European Cadet Junior Karate Championships that take place in the PalaTrieste building, dedicated to the team competitions of the junior categories opened in an excellent way for the Italians. Italy women for kata has reached the final for gold where the girls will fight against Germany. The Italian path towards the final has been characterized by clear victories on Macedonia (5-0), Turkey (4-1) and Belarus (5-0) in the poule final. Bronze medals go to France and Turkey. Third place for Italy men that reaches the bronze medal togeather with Turkey, the country that represents the main rival for the primate in the absolute medal ranking fro nations. The final in the men’s categories is going to be an affair between Spain and France. In these moments the teams are on the tatami for the kumite competitions.

Trieste, february 17th 2008 (12.00 am) The three girls that compose the german women team, finalist together with Italy for the european title said: “it’s incredible, we are in the final against Italy. The italian girls are very strong and we think that the fight is going to be very hard, but this is not going to stop us from aspiring to victory”. The Turkish head delegation, on the other hand commented “we are stronger in the kumite discipline, but we made also a little miracle in the kata discipline, I am very happy with the results we got until this moment and I hope this will be a good star looking forewards to the next Senior European Championships (Tallinn, may 2008). Here we have been very strong…”.
